floor flex

Posted by Ed on January 21st, 2002 01:43 AM

I've got pier and beam construction (4 X 6 joists 4 foot on center) with 1 1/8" plywood floor. I've currently got 6" ceramic tile that is in good shape, but I would like to replace. After removing the tile, do I have to put down backer-board or could I use a thin mortar bed. If mortar bed, how thick should it be? Thanks in advance!
