flogard PVC vs. copper

Posted by kowen on November 18th, 2004 01:18 PM

We are able to get a replumb to replace the polybutylene pipe in our 1993 manufactured home and are given the choice of PVC or copper. I had chosen copper after reading some posts here, but the contractor hired through the Consumer Plumbing Recovery Center says that the PVC is better. He says that Flogard (Nipco?) will warranty the pipe for as long as we own the home (nontransferrable). I am confused. I thought he just didn't want to use copper because it is more time consuming for him.

Any opinions on this matter would be so greatly appreciated.
