You need to find out what you have for walls. Either take a sample to a Home Center or something and have them tell you what it is. Or, have a pro give you an estimate and ask him/her what the material is that you're trying to fix.

PS: If you're asking what I (and I speak for myself) what the 'material' is and how to fix it, you may be in over your head. If you've had past experience fixing drywall or stucco or a concrete driveway or something, I'd have more faith. Sorry, H, that's just my opinion. Too many times I've had to 'come back' to someones house to make a repair that failed when the homeowner tried to fix it. Sure, you've gotta give them credit for trying. But you have to realize when it's "just beyond your capabilities" ...
