My fireplace is suppose to draw air from the floor, heat it up and exhost it back into the room above the fireplace. The problem is smoke is getting into this heated air. The smoke is coming from a poor seal, where the metal face meets the brick. How can I fix this problem permanently? I have tried some temperature resistant sealers, but they crack and break away.
