Finish Basement Floor

Posted by JM on February 24th, 2000 08:03 AM

I want to finish my basement and need advise. It is a very dry walk-out, about 10 years old.
I finished one room using 3/4" sleepers 12"oc, covered by 1/2" CDX and parquet flooring.
I am not happy with it. Not only is it cold, but you can feel the difference when you step between
where the sleepers are. I am looking at doing the rest different. Of course, I want to keep the same
height (1-1/4" plus floor covering). I am looking at the Delta FL plastic dimpled barrier, covered by
3/4" T&G plywood. Other options seem to be putting down 3/4" "Blue board" with 1/2" ply over it, or maybe
doing this with 3/4" sleepers 16" oc. Any comments or other possibilities?
