In reply to Excess Interior Moisture by JoAnne Maynard on January 19th, 2003 07:48 PM [Go to top of thread]

Greetings JoAnne,

I live in NH and this has been one of the coldest winters we have had in a long time. I guess it's more like we normaly work our way into the cold. Unlike, 40's one day and single digets the other.

Where do you think the moisture is coming from?

Think moisture. The windows don't make it.

So, the moisture is coming from inside the house.

As I've spent most of the day explaining moisture and where it shows up, you need to determine where it's coming from.

If one dehumidifier is not doing the job then you must have a ventilation problem.

Right now, where I live, it's about 15 outside and 68 inside, I have no moisture on my windows because I have very little moisture in my house.

I have a vent on my stove and in the bathrooms. I do not need a dehumidifier.

Take a walk around your house to see where water might be coming from.

You may have windows that are not installed right.

Check with some of the past post to see what you can do.

Good luck,
