We've had our swimming pool for 15 years and we haven't opened it for 3 years. I would like to find out what needs to be done to have it filled in and how expensive it is. We hadn't been using it the last few years, and our kids are grown now. It's expensive and time-consuming to maintain and I want to spend my money on other things, i.e. travel. My husband thinks the cost would be more than that of opening the pool and having someone clean it (our filter is too old and couldn't handle this job). I'd like to mention also that we had a local pool company scheduled to open it, but when they became very busy, they weren't interested in doing this job so they're not going to do it! Can it be that bad that they're turning away business?
