Gravel (road base) makes a great parkng lot or driveway and is much less expensive than pavement. It does require periodic maintenance and additions. That is the easy part.
The questions we can't help you with are:
Can you get your landlord or renters to pay for this?
Does the landlord own the property you are parking on?
Is the parking a "permitted" use by the city county or whatever? and finally
If you make improvements do you need permits?
