Faux on high gloss paint

Posted by Petra on February 10th, 2003 08:33 AM

Hi there,
My question:
all rooms of our southwestern style home were painting in white high gloss paint by the previous owner.Looks like a hospital to me! So, I'd like to finish the walls in a faux technique to make the walls look like adobe/plaster. I tried to start, but the paint just smears... What is the quickest way to achieve this look? Do I really have to put a quote of primer or drywall compound on first?
Thanks in advance for any help!
