WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF CHOOSING A PAINTER TO PAINT (STAIN) THE EXTERIOR OF OUR HOME. THE HOME IS 7 YEARS OLD AND THE SIDING WAS ORIGINALLY STAINED...THE CONTRACTORS WE HAVE CONTACTED HAVE OFFERED BOTH PAINT AND STAIN FOR OUR HOME. SOME HAVE SAID THEY SPRAY THE FINISH ONTO THE HOUSE...OTHER USE BRUSHES. WHICH IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY THE STAIN...OR PAINT, BY USING BRUSHES OR BY SPRAYING? WE CANNOT REMEMBER HOW OUR ORIGINAL CONTRACTOR APPLIED OUR FINISH...WE DO KNOW THAT A STAIN WAS USED...WE ARE LEANING TOWARDS STAIN. THE BIG QUESTION IS SHOULD WE GO WITH A CONTRACTOR WHO WILL BRUSH OR PAINT. THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER. (WHEN OUR HOUSE WAS BUILT 7 YEARS AGO, OUR BUILDER USED CEDAR SIDING THAT WAS PRE PRIMED FROM THE FACTORY AND WE BELIEVE THAT HAS KEPT OUR HOME LOOKING SO NICE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS. HOWEVER, IT IS TIME TO REFRESH THE EXTERIOR OF OUR HOME.
