Thanks for the reply. There is not an existing fireplace, and since I will be doing "brick work", I figured it would be just as easy, if not cheaper, do to the whole thing out of brick. You say that if you have an enclosure (insert) that it will actually heat my home, as opposed to a brick one...nice to know! I just had a second floor added to my home, and will be roughing in a place for a fireplace. Any more comments would be appreciated!
