I would like to build a house that is at least
5 foot off ground level. Cannot find any plans
that may head me in the right direction.I am mainly
looking for ideals and a popular form of construction.
I do know that I would prefer steele or concrete
peirs. I'm a construction manager for a industrial
contractor and have access to large equipment.
I have seen concrete footings with I-beams and concrete only as peirs all throughout papermills.
The house will have a complete wrap around porch
for maintence and help lower building cost.I plan
to do all footing and peir work, plus set any beams
if called for. Should I contact a engineer first?
Is there a web site on such a subject?
