Electrical outlet

Posted by Brian McLean on February 6th, 2001 05:40 PM

I have an electrical outlet in the kitchen which tests
as 110-115 volts _ the tester probes are thicker than
most appliance cord prongs; and when I plug in an
appliance cord, it "appears" that there is no power _
i.e. the appliance doesn't work. However, if I plug the
appliance into the stove outlet (which tests to the same
voltage), it works fine! When I do so, the stove outlet
feels like there is contact on the prongs; but when plugging
into the wall outlet, it doesn't feel as if there is
contact. I've tried bending the appliance cord prongs
this way and that to see if I can get contact with no success.

Perhaps, I haven't tried enough combinations!!!

Any help?
