Recently replaced my old electric water with a new GE electric 50 gal water heater. The old one began leaking, but heated water ok. The new one was about ten inches taller than the old one. Was able to install with no problems, but the flex pipes had to be bent in the shape of an "S" to make them fit. Didn't want to cut them off and solder new ones. The water heater works flawlessly. I a ticking or girgling noise through the pipes. It appears as though its in the water heater. I have noticed some air in the lines at times. New water heater was installed about one month ago. No apparent problrms associated with the noise, just don't like it. Also never had banging pipes before replacement. Now we hear banging when the toilet is flushed, but only just as the tank is fill and the valve shuts off the water. Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
