In reply to TARKETT LAMINATE FLOORING REPAIR by CHARLENE W. BOWERS on August 25th, 2001 04:59 PM [Go to top of thread]

HI CHARLENE,

WELL, THE EASIEST PART IS GETTING THE INSTRUCTIONS. AFTER THAT, YOU'LL HAVE TO USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT TO SEE IF YOU'RE UP FOR THE REPAIR WORK.

SEE THE FOLKS W/THE ANSWERS FOR GETTING THE INFORMATION. IF YOU INSTALLED THE FLOOR YOURSELF, YOU SHOULD HAVE THAT PAPERWORK. IT'S GOOD YOU HAVE EXTRA PLANKS. DEPENDING ON WHETHER YOU FLOOR IS GLUED, STAPLED, or NAILED WILL DETERMINE HOW TO REPAIR IT.

AS AN ASIDE, I'M SORRY TO SAY THAT I DON'T SUGGEST A WOOD FLOOR IN THE KITCHEN FOR THE EXACT REASON YOU'RE EXPERIENCING. (THIS IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS THAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERING THE SAME.) I KNOW IT DOESN'T HELP YOU WHEN I SAY IT BUT THE 'FACTS' SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

BEST OF LUCK TO YA! MY BEST TO YA AND HOPE THIS HELPS.
