In reply to residential dumb waiters by Nora Anne Kidman on February 20th, 2001 07:32 PM [Go to top of thread]

Ten years ago we designed our home for a dumbwaiter to lift groceries from the basement level to the kitchen. The cabinet in the kitchen is a 36" sink base with an opening of 24". We are getting older and finding it more and more difficult to haul groceries up the stairs. My husband is an electrical/hydraulic engineer and could install a standard unit with lift assembly.
Do you know where we might find something affordable on a retirement income - used would be OK.
