the answer to your question is ...sort of...

liquid nails makes an adhesive that is designed for drywall...the way it works is you put a bead of adhesive along all of the studs stick the drywall in place then remove it let the glue set up for a minute or so then stick it in will need at least a few fasteners to hold it in place while the adhesive fully sets up... really should fasten the drywall w/ will want to use 4-5 screws per stud per sheet on walls and 5-6 screws per rafter per sheet for ceilings...

DeWalt makes a great attatchment for a drill that allows you to adjust the depth of drive so you are able to set your screws just below the surface of the sheet w/o breaking the paper...
