I recently removed some wallpaper, along with it came a some of the latex paint under it, and with that some of my drywall. I evened out the surfaces with joint compound but I don't know if I should go all the way and remove the remaining stubborn areas of latex paint with a sander and just re-stucco the whole thing before I primer and paint. What are the drawbacks if I leave the areas of paint on the wall???
