Dryer Noise

The only things I can think of on that design of dryer (made by Whirlpool BTW) which could cause a noise and stop the motor from running might be something caught in the blower fan (like from falling into the lint filter chute), the blower fan broken or a problem in the motor itself.

** I am about to take the back off to see what I can see, so I am looking for a guiding hand. **

Many of the internal components are accessed by removing the front panel(s) and/or possibly the drum too. I don't know if you'll be able to get to the fan to inspect it from the rear.
