Just moved into a older home (about 70 years old) that was remodeled about 5 years ago. They dropped the high ceilings about 18 inches by building another ceiling underneath the old ceiling. They also framed/installed new walls over the existing walls and insulated with fiberglass batts. These left very nice deep window wells and I assume made the walls very insulated.
I was wondering if it is possible to blow in cellulose insulation directly on top of the new ceiling drywall? Another thing to note is that the wall insulation does not extend all the way up to the old ceiling, so I thought blowing in cellulose would also help this. The attic currently only has about 5-7 inches of blown in cellulose.
