After adding an addition to my house and directing the downspout drainage through plastic drains I have created a problem with too much run-off on one corner of the house. It doesn't bother me but it does bother the neighbor just below me down the hill. I have thought about possibly digging a drain pit and directing the water into it rather than having to dig a trench from the back of the house more than 30 feet to the street. It would have to be fairly deep at the street end to drain correctly. What can you tell me about a drain pit and is this a possible solution?
