Downspout drainline too shallow???

Posted by K Brown on April 3rd, 2000 10:41 PM

I recently had 4" solid pipe drainlines installed leading from the two gutter downspouts in the backyard to within five feet of the road at our front yard. The problem is there is only 1 - 2" of soil on top of the pipe. Is this enough? I am concerned that in the future if heavy equipment runs over any length that the pipe would be crushed. And is $800 too much for 200 feet?
