Hi Cathy,
I'd advise against trying to paint the vinyl-coated paneling in your trailer. Paint does not stick well to vinyl, and you may be more dissatisfied with the result than you are currently. Also, do not try to remove the strips covering the seams and spackle, as again, this is not drywall, and spackling compound will not adhere to the vinyl. The best thing you could do is either replace the paneling with a new style and color or remove the paneling and replace with drywall. Good Luck.
