disconnecting a gas stove

I just purchased a new gas range, but in order to have my old one picked up I need to disconnect it and move it out of the space. There is no flex tubing just a pipe from the wall to the stove and a lever. How can I safely disconnect and remove the stove so I can clean before the new one arrives.
