This happens to me also. I have a 3-way switch which controls 8 can lights. Each light has a 65w bulb (totaling 520w). I installed a 3-way dimmer switch which controls up to 600w. Whenever I have the switch on the screws get hot. I have checked the wiring and made sure they were secure. If I just have the light dim the screws are just warm. The higher I have the switch the hotter the screws get. I don't know if I just need a stronger dimmer or if there is a short. I would think that if it was a short it would be hot whenever it was on at any intenity. I'm afraid to use it. AND YES I'M AWARE THAT WHEN CURRENT IS GOING THROUGH, IT WILL GET HOT, BUT MY OTHER STICHES DON'T GET HOT LIKE THIS ONE DOES.
Thanks, Debbie
