as another person that paints many cabinets too, I always recommend to use a good quality latex enamel. Why, you can apply multiple coats within one day, you do not have to wait two days before using the cabinets again, And the MOST important feature is that OIL will turn Yellow quickly, possilby quicker that you expect. This is even using a top quality oil paint.

I for one recommend latex.
