You're probably not gonna like the answer but it depends on the shingle you want. The best advice I can give you is to call around to lumber yards and Home Centers for quotes. Or, take a few hours and drive to these places and do the pricing yourself. Once you have that info, you'll have your answer.
For me, you'd have to be more specific with what you want to compare. Also, where you live will affect the price, and if you or a contractor is doing the work will affect the price. FWIW, my best to ya and hope this helps.
