I tell you don't discount "department store" dehumidifiers! Years ago, I bought a Sears dehumidifier and it has been squeezing water out of my basement air ever since. The only maintenance needed on it is an annual cleaning of the coils which is very simple. I connect a short length of hose to drain it directly to the floor drain in the basement. That way I don't have to go downstairs to dump the catch basin every day. That's a fact. When I did not dump the tank daily, it'd fill up and shut off. So I know it is doing its job. If you do catch it, that's a good source of distilled water.
