Decomposed granite stabilization techniques

Posted by Joe on March 28th, 2002 07:56 AM

I live in Queensland Australia and I have access to unlimited amounts of decomposed granite at very a good price. I want to use this material to build paths with. Can someone tell me what I use to mix into the granite to keep it together and produce a hard relatively smooth surface that will not wear away? I heard many years ago that cement is used in the ratio of around 1:10. Is this correct? What color will the d/granite be when mixed with cement? How does the clay that is in the d/granite affect the final outcome? Does the mica have any effect on the material when it is being made? Thanks for any help. Joe
