Steve, Once again, thanks for your replies, your analysis, and your compasionate understanding of the situation. Yes, years ago we never dreamed that we would want one of these spas. But as we nurse the aches and pains of the accumulation of years, and attempt to cope with the stress of three teenagers in the house, we believe that a hot soak might be a healthful addition to our daily regiman. Your thoughts on the carriage bolts as the weak point in the support system make sense, and I'm thinking that when the weather warms, I may don a mining helmet and wiggle under a portion of the deck to see if I can reinforce the supports for the beam where we plan to place the spa.
