Deck on a sloped roof

Hi there,
I'm building a deck on a sloped roof (sloped about 20degrees) and am stumped about how to attach the deck to the roof.
I plan to build the deck on a platform of 2x10 joists placed 16 inches apart and resting directly above the rafters.
I don't want to screw the deck directly to the roof since water will eventualy make its way down through the screws.
Bruce M has suggested fabricating some kind of brackets which could be attached to blocking between the joists and
slipped under the asphalt shingles and screwed to the rafters. I'm not sure how to go about making these brackets
(out of what material? how big? how many?).
I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
