cutting Tapers

I cut tapers on all four sides of my end and coffee tables using a radial arm saw in the cross cut position. I set the desired angle for the first cut using a good solid stop for the material. I then used the waste taper as a shim against the stop for the next cut. You have to adjust for the material lost to the saw blade. A little experimenting with soft wood will give you the necesarry adjustments.
