Cutting chair rail miters

Hi Rick

A standard (not compound) miter box saw is all you require for chair rail you will lay flat up against the wall. You will have to put this up against the saw's fence (stand it up) and swing the saw head around to 45 degrees. Make sure the finished side is facing you. You will do it this way whether you are mitering both pieces of an inside corner miter or coping the joint....the latter method is preferred, as it will keep the mitered joint from 'spreading' when you nail both mitered pieces to the wall.
