in the kitchen..........and install a section of
three conductor/grnd between the two.....

That's #12/3 w/grd for a 20 AMP circuit....0r #14/3 for a 15AMP circuit.......

DON"T TAKE APART THE OLD WIRING......You can use it as it is.......(IF it's condition is OK)......the only wires you'll need to attach to are the two connected to the existing switch.....
