Cut in UF Cable Insulation

Posted by Walt Z------- on June 2nd, 2001 12:43 AM

While digging out an underground sprinkler head I accidently "nicked" a 220 volt UF cable that unknownst to me was buried near the sprinkler head. The "nick" penetrated the UF wire insulation and the insulation on one wire resulting in a very small amount of the copper wire showing. Question -- can this be repaired or does the cable have to be replaced? Thank you in advance.
