In reply to Crown moulding for for kitchen cabinets. Melamine vs. painted wood. by David Jensen on July 13th, 2000 06:42 AM [Go to top of thread]

Dear David

I have recently purchased Thomasville Legacy from Home Depot. I had an existing cabinet in my laundry room and had a neighbour build me a stand for a farm sink that I needed to paint. I used Benjamin Moore semi gloss latex, I first gave the wood a primer coat and then painted the base coat BM Chanilly White OC-65. I then used BM Sandy brown and mixed it with glaze and rubbed it into the crevices CC150. People who have seen the cabinets can't tell the difference. I hope this helps.
