Crawl Space repair

My house is 102 years old and of course it's settling. We have replaced several of the old brick supports with new screw jack type supports and have been trying to level the floor which has a 3.5" dip in the center. It's just not getting any better and seems to be getting much worse. I can't get anyone in this area to repair this problem. Most claim that they are too busy to take it on but say it's very simple to repair ourselves. I just need some basic rules or something to guide us in fixing this problem. The main support beam is huge and estimated to be over 150 yr old timber. We also have some venting that is in the way and I'm not sure how we are going to get around it. I would hate to think that there isn't anything we can do about this.
