I have a craftsman rachet I purchased years ago. Last weekend, the knurled ring onthe backside broke.
I love this rachet, and it has been a treasured tool for many years because if it's slim head and good feel.
I took the broken tool back to a Sears Hardware store. they decided it was OK to replace a broken 20 dollar tool (at 1991 prices!) with a rebuilt $6 tool.
I've since called over a dozen phone numbers to try to find anyone who can repair this tool, or replace it; no luck.
I use a lot of craftsman tools but this is extremely irritating; is there some special definition of "lifetime warranty" that I missed? a $6 rachet is not a "comparable tool" to one I paid $20 for over twelve years ago. Pound sand, sears.
