Craftsman Garage Door remotes

My Craftsman auto. garage door works fine using the button attached to the wall, but does not work at all using the remotes. If I push the remote putton, I can see a little green light flicker on the back of the openner, but nothing happens. It may have something to do with the "lock" button on the button attached to the wall, but since I do not have the manual I cannot figure it out. Any ideas?
