Cracked Chain Wall Foundation in Los Angeles

Posted by CHAIN CHAIN CHAIN on February 24th, 2002 11:57 AM

I recently purchased a house with the prior knowledge that the chain wall foundation had major cracks and would need repairs. Because of this I got the house for a good price but am having trouble finding a contractor. I learned a lot reading the foundation page of the *** **** site but need to find a contractor before the cracks worsen to the dangerous point. My question is, can a cracked foundation lead to other dangers that may force me out of the house if I don't fix fast? For example the roof is being pulled apart at the I-beam because of the settling foundation. I'm noticing more and more cracks in the ceiling and where the ceiling meets the wall as if cracks that were hidden are coming through or there are new cracks forming as the roof is shifting in response to the foundation pulling it apart.
