Crack in Copper Water Supply at Foundation Wall

I just had a plumber out to look at a leak in my main water supply line into the house and found out the copper pipe that protrudes through the basement wall is cracked right at the basement wall. They said there's no way to seal the crack and the old pipe will need to be removed with a hammer drill and replaced. The basement is finished so they will need to cut a hole in the drywall to get at the pipe. Their estimate is $300-350, which doesn't include drywall repairs. Does this sound like a reasonable price and also does this sound like the correct way to fix the problem? Thx, BB
