I have nasty "textured" ceiling tiles GLUED to the ceiling of two of my rooms in my 1913 house. Glued to plaster - they are 12x12, and UGLY! We don't want to take them out because it would be more work to fix the ceiling. We would like to cover them - one contractor suggests drywalling, my dad suggests some kind of thick paint. The contractor says the seams would probably "telegaph" through so you'd see an obvious pattern.
What are your suggestions?
