cover brick to make it look like a normal"drywall" wall

Posted by J Winchester on January 24th, 2000 09:37 PM

I have a fireplace that is in the middle of the house (not on outside wall). The firleplace wall extens 6-8 feet to create a separating wall between the family room and the living room (wall isabout 6 feet high). The brick is painted white right now but I would like to cover to make it look like a normal"drywall" wall. How can I do that? With Dry wall, Cement backer board, Mortor joints, seal and then texture? Fireplace is useable and will shrotly have a gas insert. Thank You.
