Countertops - What meterial to use? (RE: cuts)

I need to top a bathroom vanity. I already have the sinks, so I'm not looking for a one-piece top&sink combo. I would like the top to be some sort of stone look - granite, marble, .... could be a solid color though.

I'm not too wild about a formica top. But I'm looking for a material to use in which I can easily cut the holes for the sink. The holes have to be neat - they can't be ragged. I would think I'd cut them using a router or a sabre saw.

Any suggestions on the material? (also, how to cut it & where to get it.)
