Try "seeding" your countertop.
pour concrete inyour form then "seed it" putting pcs of what ever in
the surface.
Then seal the top protecting it.
doing it yourself is inexpensive but be prepared to clean up the mess.
you can do it off site and bring the top back to the kitchen for instalation
either way the results are beautiful.
