Most laminate manufacturers also have paste or liquid fillers for repairing damaged surfaces. I've used the Formica brand filler and had pretty good results. The repairs weren't invisible but certainly not noticable. Of course solid colors patch much better than patterns. If you know the color/pattern number you can get an exact color match for Formica brand, or you can custom mix colors yourself. Rout out the damaged areas about 1/16" or less, the smaller the area the better, over 1 inch diameter is really hard to strike flush. For $5-$10 its sure worth a try.
