You definately had a adhearson or sticking problem and I would guess that it was do to appling some new poly to old poly that was not sanded to wood and that just released itself with the other chemicals.

Now, how to rectify this is another question. We both know how hard it is to remove poly. do you need to do the entire floor for uniformity? Can you fix the spots without leaving spots?
