Welcome to the field Joe.
I've been an electrician for 15 years and I have been through a lot of drills corded as well as cordless.
The 18 volt cordless Dewalt is a true knuckle buster and wrist breaker ( very powerful ) it happens to be the best one I have ever owned. I have even used it to bore holes for our wires and I'm talking the naileating auger bit not the flat bits.
The only flaw that I have found in this drill is that it doesn't have any thermo overload protection ....
Dewalt is the one I would go with if i were you....
