In reply to Replacing Copper Pipe with CPVC or PEX Piping by Ron on February 28th, 2002 09:12 AM [Go to top of thread]

Ron...mostly for my own info..why are you replacing copper with plastic? Is it because of lead in the solder?Or the $$$ or ease of installing?I re-piped my whole house last year, with copper and no lead solder.I had every type of pipe known to man in my house so when I replaced a run I just followed the old run just as it was laid out.CPVC has the same OD as copper so you might not have to make any new holes if you follow the old runs, and CPVC is for potable water, but is not"legal" where I live.I know you will get more posts on this with much better info.
