Cool Air from Furnace

In reply to My Intertherm furnace is blowing cool air, Help! by Tom Leonard on February 26th, 2003 09:42 AM [Go to top of thread]

We have had this problem for three months in the home we just bought. After eleven service calls from three different companies (going thru home warranty - what a joke!), we have discovered that the burner is kicking out, probably due to a restriction somewhere in the return air duct. Although the burner isn't heating, the unit continues to blow because the thermostat hasn't been satisfied. Our home temp gets down into the low 50's on really cold nights. The burner trips out with all covers on the unit, but will continue to burn when the covers are removed as it can get enough air to function safely. You might check your return filters first; if they are clean, you probably want to investigate the ductwork. Good luck...
